Worked closely with the three co-founders and CEO Howard Ting in the early years, helping build the company from the ground up. Being close to leadership, engineering, and core decision-making was a huge learning experience. The founding team and early engineering group set a strong tone — humble, sharp, and focused on building something real.
As the company scaled, I spent more time working with Sales, Sales Engineering, Finance, and Customer Experience. The environment was intense and fast-moving, but highly execution-driven. Expectations were clear, ownership was real, and teams were aligned around outcomes.
Customer interaction was a major highlight. Talking directly with customers, understanding their security goals, and feeding that insight back into the product made the work tangible and high-impact. You could see customer feedback directly influence product direction.
Loved working with the individual AEs and SEs day to day. Tight-knit, high-trust teams where people genuinely had each other’s backs. It felt like family, without losing focus on performance. Strong leadership across teams — John Loya, who runs the SE team, is an excellent leader and a real advocate for his team.
High standards, strong ownership, and a culture that valued getting things done. Intense at times, but we had a lot of fun along the way.
