Vantaggi
Cyera has an exciting mission and a strong opportunity to make a real impact in the data security space. The CEO, CTO + CRO are genuinely impressive—visionary, approachable, and clearly passionate about what they’re building. With essentially unlimited funding, the company can afford to hire top talent and move quickly. Cyera has some great perks, particularly when it comes to showing appreciation for employees. The company has a team dedicated to this and they go out of its way to send thoughtful gifts during Christmas, anniversaries, and other special occasions, which is a nice touch that helps create a sense of recognition and care.
Svantaggi
Some senior figures seem more focused on hiring friends and ex-colleagues than on fostering a diverse, merit-based team. This creates a toxic culture where employees outside the inner circle are blatantly overlooked and treated unfairly. Favoritism is obvious, with some people getting special treatment or opportunities simply because they’re in with the right crowd. It’s demotivating, and it’s clear that this kind of bias is eroding trust in the leadership and damaging the overall company culture. Culturally, the company is fractured. There’s a serious lack of accountability and transparency. Toxic behavior from certain managers goes unchecked—some bordering on bullying—which has created a toxic atmosphere in pockets of the business. Leadership under the CEO/CTO/ CRO is making questionable decisions that are actively sending the company in the wrong direction. On the product side, there are critical issues that are either being ignored or deprioritized. Meanwhile, a large portion of closed deals seem to be the result of investor handshakes or favors from connections in the ecosystem—not necessarily product merit. Customers are noticing this too, with signs of churn already becoming evident.
