4yDear IT Support Specialist – Former Employee
I appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback on your experience in working with us – obviously, something has gone terribly wrong to warrant you posting such a negative review and I would like to learn what that was. I am happy to discuss this with you at any time.
I am sorry that the reply below is not very short but the contents of your review is of great concern to me and I want to make sure that I address everything and that we learn from your comments and improve our process where possible.
As an employer, we want to make sure that everyone enjoys their work and feels rewarded so that together we can grow our company.
We implemented many improvements over the last couple of years to help everyone cope with the impact of Covid-19 restrictions and ensured that all staff were able to work in a safe environment either from home or in the office as circumstances allowed.
We try at all times to maintain very good communications with everyone and to always keep our promises and I thought that we had resolved your concerns regarding the 1 item you realised in our recent 1 to 1 meeting with you - i.e. your career path. I am sorry that you feel differently now and that you did not feel able to communicate those concerns to us when asked - we will work internally to improve in this regard.
Parking is always a problem in small offices sharing a small car park with others in the complex and in our case the parking immediately outside the office is limited to 4 spaces. We have however provided secure parking within a short walk (5 mins) from the office and everyone has access to that. Some people choose to park closer, in local housing areas but we have never had a report of any damage or trouble from local people - I am sorry if this was not the case with you.
The company introduced an early start (8:00 am) many years ago which allows us to finish the week at 1:00 pm on a Friday. Occasionally someone may stay back for an hour to complete a task but this is not the norm. I am puzzled by your comment that this affected you because you operated on a rota basis with another IT Support person to work only every second Friday and therefore did not experience any time when you needed to work late to "fix" anything.
As you know, training is one area in which we are particularly focused and developing good training material for staff and customers was one of your key tasks while working in I.T. Support. We implemented a number of training schemes and also uses 2 LMS (Learning Management System) platforms. We also carry out weekly training sessions every Friday morning. I would like to understand how we can improve on this and would welcome any suggestions you make have.
The “cons” expressed in your review are a complete contrast to our last conversation which followed receipt of your resignation letter and are also completely at variance with the contents of your resignation letter and the extract below from this letter.
“I would like to thank you for the opportunity to have worked in the position for the past 9 months. I have learned a great deal during my time here and enjoyed collaborating with my colleagues. I will take a lot of what I have learned with me in my career and will look back at my time here as a valuable period of my professional life.
During the next 2 weeks, I will do what I can to make the transition as smooth as possible and will support in whatever way I can to hand over my duties to colleagues or to my replacement. Please let me know if there is anything further I can do to assist in this process.”
I would ask you to reflect on your review and consider updating it or removing it because I don't feel that its a fair review.
