Vantaggi

In this job market, I have been lagging behind, underemployed despite my four graduate degrees, for far too long until I stumbled upon this ad on Indeed. The job application was long, as they give you a range of sample work assignments to complete and, when I was accepted, it sounded a little too good to be true, as I could sign on any time I wanted, work as much as there was work available, and just report my hours at the end. They're really that easy to deal with. To begin in March, I spent most of my time doing fact checks on AI responses - Google searches, basically - for $25/hr. If that stresses you out, there are plenty of lighter tasks available for 20, recording audio samples and generating content to feed the machine. Feel like researching lawn mowers or Taylor Swift albums? Chat with the AI, document what you did, and collect your money a week later. For specialists, though, it gets much better. Since May, I have exclusively been working on law and finance concepts, generating prompts with guidance on solutions, documenting failures, and critiquing responses, usually at $50/hour. I haven't worked for under $40/hr since then, and I haven't had a month where I've made less than $8000. The work can get lonely, but it's challenging and always different. If a particular project starts to feel stale, there are plenty of others to choose from to break up your day. Payment has been a breeze. Submit your hours, wait 7 days for them to verify your work, and request your instantaneous PayPal payout. Money comes no question. I have not once had them fail to pay me for submitted hours and, the only time that I contacted them because a technical issue on their end prevented submission of some work, they added the hours and paid me for it without a hint of pushback. Flat out, whether you need a convenient side hustle or a full-time income, this is a great opportunity. Your pay rate and experience will likely vary based on your background, but there really is an opportunity here for anybody who can pay attention to detail and work independently.

Svantaggi

There are downsides, for sure. That one pay email is the only direct contact I've had with the company other than an occasional group chat message for clarification on a project's instructions. So, if you need socialization, you'll have to find it in your free time. It's Independent Contractor/1099 work, too, so you're on your own to handle taxes and benefits, and no such thing as paid time off. However, you'll make that time and expense back in freedom.

Great to work for, lots of work once you get past initial assessment as a specialist for coding. Receiving payments is seamless.

Work can be tedious and require long blocks of time.

Vantaggi

- Very flexible, asynchronous work schedule. - Reasonable pay, especially for the convenience. - Can earn more with expertise.

Svantaggi

- The work is unreliable with regular droughts (sometimes there's more than enough to work on, sometimes there's no work available). - Highly unlikely to receive any performance feedback. - You are not their employee, it is freelance work that qualifies (for me at least) as self-employment, so you have to plan ahead for taxes.
