Having previously worked at VC backed tech-companies I'm no stranger to unachievable targets, excessive working hours and a life of stress and knew that this isn't the type of company I wanted to work for anymore. DataBees is the exact opposite and, as a profitable, bootstrapped business, the team are in control of their own destiny. OKRs are set by management, are based on actual data and past performance to make sure that they are challenging but fair. The company has built an environment where it's okay to make mistakes as long as you are are giving it your all and are consistently working towards a solution which allows the team to learn and grow. The flexibility is next to none as everyone is 100% remote and are free to choose to work anywhere in the world and the team are fantastic as, even though were spread across the world everyone is incredibly friendly and willing to help one another. I've felt as if the work over the last 10 months has certainly been challenging and I've learned a lot but this hasn't been at the sacrifice of a healthy work/life balance.

As with all startups it can be a little scrappy at times and you have to be willing to get stuck in and find solutions or build processes yourself if they don't already exist. The benefits could be better e.g. more holiday to ensure that we remain competitive with what other companies offer.
