DataSnipper offers a strong product and holds the lead in its market, despite new competitors emerging. It will be very interesting to see how we expand beyond the largely tapped audit market into new use cases and verticals. If you connect with the right people and leaders, success is possible, but these opportunities aren’t always merit-based. The company is made up of young, energetic people, which can make for a lively office. Leadership is quite strict about spending time in the office, so it's never dead.

Attrition is a major issue: For all the talk about being the "fastest-growing company," there’s surprisingly high turnover, which points to deeper problems within the company. The culture is subpar, and overall morale is extremely low. Despite record growth, management is hyper-focused on pinching pennies. This results in the hiring of inexperienced staff, while high performing employees often leave for better offers elsewhere. Sales quotas are set unreasonably high, and commission is pathetically low. The customer success and sales teams rely too much on the strength of the product and are lacking skill. I have been unimpressed with the exception of a few colleagues. The CS team fosters a culture of complaining, despite being handed an incredible product with little competition in the market. Many long-term employees are simply waiting out their time to vest shares, contributing little to the company’s success. Toxic political culture: There’s a backstabbing environment fueled by politics, coming directly from management. While some leaders are decent, others completely lack integrity, and there’s no accountability for poor behavior. Bottom line: don’t trust anyone. Exaggerated sales quota attainment: Sales quota attainment is highly exaggerated. While a few employees might be overachieving significantly, most are struggling to meet their targets. Don’t trust anything to the contrary. Manufactured positivity: The company puts on a facade of positivity, but it’s fake. Be cautious of this overly manufactured optimism -- it doesn’t match the reality on the ground.

The management team is deeply disappointing. Some leaders display genuinely toxic and bullying behavior. The managers from NY office are the worst managers I’ve ever worked with - unethical, unprofessional, and extremely toxic. There’s also a concerning number of inexperienced managers driven by ego rather than leadership. I’ve seen people join the company excited, motivated, and full of potential, only to leave completely burned out and miserable. The culture often feels performative, people talk a lot about caring, but in practice, very little support exists. They order chicken-fill-A for breakfast after the worst behave to make things up and pretend they care. It's very frustrating. At times, it feels more like a high-school fraternity environment than a serious, mature organization, with many junior professionals overestimating their capabilities while lacking the experience and leadership skills to support a healthy workplace.
