Was never paid correctly Horrible Permanent Staff horrible Manager Manager had no experience and didnt know what she was doing No training Bad Pay I worked at debenhams over the Christmas period and boy how i wish i never got the job. Firstly, all the managers in the store are too young and stupid to have any experience and have worked their way up from being Christmas staff. They should hire people a little older who have been managers before and know what they are doing. I never once got my right wage, and when asking for help with it the staff were too incapable of finding out what was wrong with it. I wasn't given any form of training, and when asking for it the manager shrugged and didn't really care. I wasn't given a uniform, or even a name badge which meant customers would stare at me for 5 minutes trying to work out if i was a customer or a staff member. I was given all the overtime because nobody else wanted to do it. and when i told them i wasn't available (because they put me down for it without even bothering to ask) they point blank refused to take me off. I have been on the shop floor close to tears because of they way they make you feel in there.The Christmas staff are made to do all the work whilst the permanent staff stand around talking for 20 minutes at a time if not longer. They bully you because they know you will be leaving in a couple of months so they don't care how you feel. Don't apply here unless your really desperate, cos trust me you can do better.
