Vantaggi
They have a nice looking headquarters with decent amenities. Health care plan really is top notch.
Svantaggi
DecoPac was purchased by an investing firm recently. The coming months have ensued an onslaught of difficult and hostile work conditions. Their main goal is to earn more money in any way they can and they are NOT above saving a buck by taking it from their employees. (ie: make one employee do two employees jobs). I am not exaggerating when I say that every single employee in the tech support dept is overworked and underpaid. Raises come once a year and they are very, very low - It is absolutely pitiful as this doesn't even cover the rises in insurance premiums and cost of living increases on a year to year basis. There really is nothing "fair" about this company, good employees are given multiple peoples jobs for the same amount of pay as others who will half-ass the work. The work environment has deteriorated over the last few months tremendously with almost everyone extremely behind on projects that they're "assigned" to do. Management doesn't seem to care about the well-being of their employees as they have driven away multiple old coworkers of mine with running the department into the ground. Nepotism runs rampant, particularly in the customer service area. Without naming names, someone in an elevated position hired a bunch of their friends from previous workplaces and had them change their resumes/social profile's to hide this fact. They were then offered opportunities beyond reach of others who had already established their time to the company. That should give you a good idea of the kind of company that they run. They are constantly pushing in new policies to make "improvements" to the department. I'll name some from the last couple months: 1. Allowing people to work overtime throughout the week and then sending them home early on the last day of the week so guess what?...That extra time you put in... Yeah that was just regular pay. 2. Recording every call and recording your computer screen for "Quality Assurance". 3. Every call is automatically picked up instantly to your headset, this will discourage you from talking to others around around you as you never know when you will have to abruptly stop mid sentence and answer "Thanks for calling". 4. Making 30 minute unpaid lunch break mandatory, but if you happen to miss your 15 minute paid breaks no one cares. Because, well, they're paid and clearly it will benefit the company if you're shoehorned to work through them. (and you will as you cannot go on break when you want. and you're told 'not right now' 75% of the time by management.) 5. Extremely strongly suggested/bullied into not talking about raises, bonuses, or anything financially related with your family or coworkers. 6. Lower raises than last year. 7. No phones. No phones at all inside the office. Even on your unpaid lunch break you can't have your phone sitting on your desk. This should have painted a pretty clear picture now of how the Photocake department opperates. I hope someone finds this helpful and is able to benefit from my experience.
