Exhausting office politics, taboos, and strict unwritten must-follow rules such as: - no salary conversations or mentions. - pretty often unpaid overtime to meet dead-ends. - what you can talk about, what you can't talk about and how to address higher-ups (ideas, "anonymous" opinions, projects, discontents, etc...). Obligatory "optional" activities. Favoritism is pretty prevalent in management and is present everywhere. No real opportunity of advancing career unless close and friendly with the higher-ups, usually, even if not qualified, those individuals will be prioritized over qualified employees.
