Vantaggi

If you get in the right team with a great line manager, you are laughing. An influential sponsor will get you promoted. If you're not in sales or marketing, you may as well be at any other average company - the glitz doesn't come through much enough although Diageo does try to get everyone involved in the brands. Although global travel has been reduced lately, the other great perk is being able to travel the world Business Class if you're in a more global role. If you're at one of the main sites, like London, you'll benefit from a great building and facilities (gym, bar, restaurant, shop). You'll get some of the best benefits in the UK such as high annual leave, freeshares and a great pension. Flexible working is the big benefit though – in many roles you can work from home a couple of days a week. This is just a fantastic perk, but is fair considering Diageo is located far out of central London, commutes are long and you are exptected to put in the hours at busier times, including late and early meetings in different timezones.

Svantaggi

The big disadvantage is the out-of-London location - Park Royal is a depressing place to commute to with nothing around. The other thing is the salaries - although Diageo says it benchmarks salaries, every recruiter I have spoken to is shocked at how low my salary is. Diageo doesn't assess individual employee skills and experience well enough in line with salaries and banks on its great benefits to make up a good package instead - and stop employees leaving. Diageo has a culture which works well for the confident employee who may look after themselves first. It is all about who you know and focuses on results more than people, as much as it tries to tell you otherwise. It has a hierarchical (level) culture, sometimes not giving everyone fair opportunities to grow skills and input into decisions - especially those lower down who don't shout as loud as others but could be great future talent. Some might say there is a lack of integrity in places, taking credit for other people's ideas and achievements and that management is poor. It all depends on the market, team or function you are in and so this doesn't apply everywhere. Some managers don't stay true to our values, which lets Diageo down. It's do as I say, not as I do.

Vantaggi

Pay & Benefits are wonderful

Svantaggi

Unrealistic expectations towards employees Insurance benefits *Managers* are composed of front-line production leads and those who may oversee or supervise.* The work-life balance is severely lacking, and there are biased managers who add negative connotations to peers' actions without any solid evidence or knowledge. Furthermore, these managers often lack technical expertise regarding machinery and engage in excessive micromanagement of employees. The workplace lacks diversity as defined, and the hiring representatives are typically the same floor leads that micromanage peers creating unfair hiring process at Diageo. Many individuals who have encountered the corrupt practices lead reps in previous jobs are frequently denied opportunities.
