Service Charge is good the base pay is minimum wage however the service charge and tips make it a well payed job (without costing the owners a penny) only reason I still work there

Isolating if unable to speak hindi, the site I work at the majority of staff speak Hindi at all times to each other. This makes it impossible to become part of the team and I feel incredibly isolated at work. Some team members just fully ignore you if you try and speak in English to them. Management seem complicit in this even during a "team beer" after a saturday I have ended up the only non hindi speaker in the room and ignored completley. This is especiially upsetting when you know conversations are regarding your work or about you as can hear your own name being mentioned. Not only is this unproffessional but I belive is also rude when it singles out just one perosn. There is very little chance for progression as well I question some of the promotions that have happened within our site as well. A headbartender who has next to no bar experience and has never tried a drink in his life compared to those around him with several years experience working on bars feels a little odd to me. It's a very cliquey place to work and if you can't speak hindi to managers forget any chance of progression.
