I can't say there were many positives, I accepted it because of the possibility of higher pay, unfortunately that wasn't the case. My coworkers were super friendly but that's it.

1). I was let go without explanation, following what I was told was an excellent performance review. The owner came to the meeting to scowl and stand with her arms crossed, while providing no additional context. 2) This is the only "salary" job I've had where they treat you like you are hourly. they seem to bring up your hours once a day, if they think you are short of 8 hours per day, and deduct from your pay... However they don't acknowledged overtime, lunch hours worked though, or prepping off the clock. I personally worked through more of my lunches than days I got to eat, none of that time was paid or considered as making up for time deducted. 3) During an outing, I was asked uncomfortable questions about sexual identity and expression. I was told I didn't need to answer shortly after but it was still awkward and offensive. 4) suggestions for disability accomodations, or other feedback was regularly ignored in lieu of more costly or less productive ones. 5) coworkers seemed like they were scared of expressing disagreements to management in fear of retaliation. 6) you don't receive commissions for 3 months after you close deals. I never saw any of my commission. 7) when I was hired they bragged about having excellent insurance; but they only offer two plans both of which are HDHP and cover very little.

We’re sorry to hear that you didn’t feel welcome because we pride ourselves in creating a culture where everyone is comfortable being themselves. Our open-door policy with employees is one of the reasons we have the tenured staff that we do, with the average sales employee having more than 5 years with the company. It’s unfortunate that many of the issues that are spelled out in this review were never brought to our attention so we may have been able to address them. By far the worst company I've been employed by. Sales Director has no experience in sales. New owner is one of the less personable people I've met. Turning into a revolving door of employees either quitting or getting fired. When you interview, they are going to bring their "NPS" score up as a "high" employee satisfaction. You will be chewed out & told you're being negative if you answer honestly so nobody answers them honestly. You will receive an endless feed of contradicting statements about timelines and ship dates of the product you're trying to sell. The old owner is the only manager who has "experience" with the company. All other managers were outside hires so there's a huge disconnect between the "worker bees" & management. Invoicing software is beyond clunky and most of the clicks in sales force are for management tracking purposes. SOPs are beyond elaborate and never followed. When I started, base commission was 5%. By the time I left it was 1%. Commission checks went from monthly to quarterly. Tense work environment. Top or bottom of the sales leaderboard, you're going to be micromanaged no matter what. Management not afraid to openly blame sales dept or sales individuals for lost bids.
