Even though based on questionable data sets, Doconomy tries to contribute to motivating people to fight climate change. Some of the people working there are sweet, capable and really believe in making a change.

The leadership group, particularly the founders, have very little understanding (or too small a voice, if their background is solid) on how a product and tech company should be structured, staffed, motivated and led. The founders are micromanaging even the smallest of activities, encouraging people to work late and during time off, expecting no boundaries between private and work time, and normalising the existence of meetings at 7am or 8pm. Their go-to leadership style is based on threat and punishment (they do not believe in the values of trust and encouragement), and do not seem to see a problem in openly showing misogynistic and discriminatory behaviours. The fact that the only women, diverse, or non-white Swedish men ever present in the “white boys club” that is their leadership group (can’t really call it a team, as they are constantly at each other’s throats) have either forcibly or not left that toxic environment, is the strongest sign of such tendencies.
