Looking through the lens of my own experience and given the size of DocuSign and the caliber of product they make the general things such as compensation, PTO, perks, benefits, etc all seemed pretty good. When I joined the company I really enjoyed my colleagues, managers, leaders, and the overall vibe. Until the turmoil and changes started. I worked with some pretty amazing people but in fairness, any decent company should have plenty of those. Before I left the Digital Technology Services organization did start making some changes and providing trainings that began to improve things.

Over 2-3 years, my functional manager changed five times and the organization I was under changed once. I survived several layoffs before getting caught up in one this year. In hindsight I think they did me a service. However, the fact that I was laid off while the team was hiring new people with slightly different titles who inevitably had to take over my work degraded my respect for the company even further. The constant changes in projects, work, org structures, and the layoffs made it difficult to maintain morale and any sense of clarity around priorities. I understand reorgs are a commonly occurring thing within technology companies but at DocuSign it really hurt the experience. The leadership changes, layoffs, and reorg effectively prevented me from receiving a promotion I was on track for. Within the Digital Technology Services organization, there was some nepotism between top level leadership. There was also some favoritism occurring between middle level managers and certain employees which inevitably led to others becoming the scapegoat for things that were not their fault. Things did start improving around the time I left but in many ways it also felt like too little too late. During the entire time I was at DocuSign there seemed to be little accountability anywhere in the organization. Why pay for sales systems and host trainings if sales reps can effectively just do what they want? Why allow product managers and analysts creating products and managing systems to forgo quality documentation and enablement content because they are "too busy"? Questions that ultimately never got answered but led to continued frustration. I heard that recently they stopped providing equity grants to employees that are P3 and below while telling employees to focus on improving shareholder value. There are so many more negative things I could point out but for anyone looking to work here I would caution you to...well...take caution. At a company of this size there is a lot of luck involved in the quality of your job, your colleagues and leadership. There are good people at DocuSign so if you are in the right role, under the right organization or leader you could have a great experience. That said, every time I felt like things were beginning to look up, something came along that beat down my burgeoning optimism.
