Everything about that place is horrible, and this is coming from someone that used to work there. The manager is absolutely terrible. She'll treat you as if you don't do anything correctly and she'll try to get rid of you if she doesn't like you, even if you're a good employee. She likes to talk down on you as if you're someone off the streets. The owners don't do anything about her behavior and how she treats her staff or clientele. There have been numerous complaints made to them about her and all they do is ignore it or make up excuses on why she acts the way she does and to cover up the fact that she's just an overall disrespectful and unprofessional person, period. They never cared about their staffs' well-being and how things were being run at their establishment. They're in it for the money and nothing else. There's a new employee being hired every two weeks because someone either quits because they're being treated poorly or ends up being fired for the smallest thing or nothing at all. The manager had even said out of her own mouth that she won't hire anyone that she finds attractive. A girl who started working there in December (hired by owners, not her) got Assistant Manager position by the beginning of January all because the manager liked her in a romantic way and the owners allowed her to keep the position even though she was still new to everything and had to constantly be taught how to do everything. It was highly unfair to give someone that type of position when they still didn't know what they were doing just because you like them in a romantic way and you have people there that are more than qualified to be an assistant manager or higher because they know how to do their job. They were both getting over 60hrs/week while everyone else was being skewed of their hours. Even when brought to the owner's attention, they still didn't care. Speaking of the owners, let's talk about how they gave their hardworking employees compliments ONLY when they got a good review on Yelp or any other review site. Other than that, they'd blame us and talk down on us for things that we had no control of or just stuff in general. For instance, on Christmas, another coworker and I had to stay till seven instead of five (which was when we originally closed on holidays and Sundays) because of a client who was going to take legal action because she didn't feel comfortable about her dog being in a crate for more than 12 hours (even though she was told beforehand of our hours and how we don't do overnight services, but still boarded her dog). The owners made us stay till seven to take the boarding dogs out to use the bathroom before leaving and we were blamed for always leaving at the SCHEDULED CLOSING TIME as if we made up those hours. Oh, and let's not forget how I and this same coworker were singled out on multiple occasions and made it seem like we didn't know how to do our jobs. Let's also talk about how they removed me from payroll BEFORE firing me and removed all of my previous payroll records and they still didn't even say that I was fired, I quit by the time I came back from my trip and they didn't even have my paycheck there yet. Then, the owner had the nerve to BLOCK me after asking her where my money is. How can you call yourself a business owner but not be professional when it comes to handling someone else's money? Didn't make sense then, doesn't make sense now. Now, let's talk about how your beautiful and wonderful furbabies were treated at this "highly rated" establishment and tell you what really went on behind the scenes. First, let me just say that if you have access to the cameras, CHECK THEM! I remember working this one morning with the manager and her lover and while they were in the back eating breakfast/lunch together (per usual), I was at the front doing desk work. There was a dog named Ludwig who was barking a lot at the door, which he usually did, so to shut him up, the manager decided it would be a great idea to swing the door open fast as hell and hit him either in his face or in his body and then laugh about it as if it was funny. I wish I had worked the afternoon shift that day so I could've told his dad about what happened. Also, that place isn't fit to take any more than 25 dogs at best because space is limited in there. They would accept anyone that walks through that door on days where we couldn't take any more dogs, regardless if they made an appointment or not. You stick a whole bunch of hyper and energetic dogs in such a small and confined space with not much room to play in, that can cause fights to break out. They also don't train you on group behavior and how to break up a dog fight if one were to occur, so you're pretty much walking in there blindfolded. Of course, there were amazing people there who actually loved their job and caring for the animals, me being one of them, but we all left and it's still the same, nothing is ever going to change about it and it's really sad.
