Lack of transparency from C-suite
No established structure/organization chart
Not a good place for women. Merit raises and promotions are typically reserved for men. Recent layoffs and reorganization has meant that the technology division has nearly no women left, and when they do hire people (and they typically only hire in VP and SVP roles) they only hire men for these roles. Not only in technology but all recent management and higher hires have been men.
It is not diverse in other ways. For example, in this company of about 1000 people after their merge there is only 1 African American employee in a role of director or higher.
They have also removed several of the benefits that they sold this job to people on. For example, vacation time that you can accrue and rollover and get paid out on is gone. Weekly pay was sold as a benefit but they changed it to biweekly. They reduced the number of insurance plans available. My deductibles are sky high and unaffordable now. They used to provide weekly lunches during tax season and took that benefit away.
Since the executive team was changed, layoffs happened, and benefits were cut, the company culture has begun to deteriorate as well.
The thing that drove me to write this instead of keeping it all to myself was the fact that on top of all of the other negativity, this company defaulted on their payroll for all full time employees on January 19 2024. But they still expect employees to work even though they are not paid. The company did not make any attempt to help out the employees who were affected by this and have overdrafts or bills they cannot pay.
They have also announced that for employees who have accrued PTO before the switch to unlimited/unsavable time off, they will pay out only 40 hours that you have EARNED but no plans on paying out the rest that you have EARNED, but "maybe" after tax season is over.
