Vantaggi

The culture, free snacks, and a (small) paycheck that clears sums up this company's good qualities. If you're looking for something else that won't be found here.

Svantaggi

Where to start? Your hours will change weekly allowing no stability one week you go in at 6am another week 7am, and 9am they had a 10am shift which they did away with. Your mornings will start with a huddle in which they will tell the floor everything you need to do better at and how you need to work the phone and take calls. The motto is "smile and dial". You will be contacting customers who have little education and don't know what they're getting into when getting a car with us. Heck, they don't even know the difference between lease and finance. Then you will provide them with down payments, those won't fit the customers budget so you will give as many "talk offs" that you can to get them in the door and get an application ran. The reason for doing so is because you get paid via tier by how many applications get ran. If you want a paycheck you must sell your soul and tell them anything to come in! (FYI you're getting them to come in and get some 2007 car for 22k With over 100k miles that may have roaches or may be flooded inside of it rains. If you feel good about ripping people off this won't be hard but if you have a guilty conscious this may cause sleepless nights) A recruiter may tell you that you can make over 60K a year by performing well but that's purely a lie the avg. income for this department is 35K including you bonus (bonus has a larger tax % so please keep that in mind). When asking about a promotion, advancement, or career pathway during interview they paint this Picasso when in reality advancement is a mess and nearly impossible. You will have "seniors" which are just merely carrier pigeons who provide messages from the higher ups they will be your friend when they need you and the minute they can do you wrong they will (Until they wrong you they may set up some fun games to break up the horrific calls you make and provide you with candy). When it comes to them wronging you, no, I am not talking about my high school days but this job is scary similar too that time period so beware. Then you have supervisors and they don't know about what your job currently entails because they did the position long ago when they company was different and had only 20 employees. They will micromanage you so if you are one who enjoys being babysat, apply. Up the chain of command is managers and our of three there is no communication you would be shocked they know each other's names because one says one thing the other says something different. When it comes to voicing your opinion be careful with your word choice because they may come back to haunt you worse than that chain letter you didn't reply to in 1997. Ladies also if you're planning to grow a family watch out no maternity leave with this place! Finally, if you want to leave know that it's best to quit and run than to give your two weeks and have them pulling you into meetings asking what the company could to better and what made you seek another employer because let's get real here. They can use this app as simple as I can and see the overall professionalism they're lacking as a company.

I appreciate the obvious time it took for you to leave this review and provide this feedback to our Internet Development group. While there are many factually incorrect statements (our IDTs agent are compensated at $45,000 a year on average, DriveTime does offer maternity leave for all of our moms-to-be, just to point out a couple), we understand that DriveTime might not be the right fit for everyone despite our competitive compensation packages, career pathing opportunities and culture. DriveTime's IDT exists to help advise people on making the right decision - what's right for them - to get the financing they need to purchase a vehicle. I'd encourage you to speak to your manager regarding your frustrations with your position so we can help meet the expectations we have set, or help you find a different opportunity within the company that may be a better fit for you. Thanks again for your candid feedback.

Vantaggi

It use to operate like a startup. Flexible with the right management. Outings can be fun, but most of the fun has been laid off or budgeted out. Red tape, metrics, favoritism, and budgeting ruined everything. I miss what it use to be.

Svantaggi

They have let go at least 50% of IT, and another 20% have left on their own if not more within the last year. The good old boy club is very strong, was told there's no where to move up. Years in a row never having any actual achievable goals to show accountability for promotion. They are running out of technical knowledge and the only one's who are staying are those who've been there for a long time, only. Even some of those are getting laid off unexpectedly. Having connections outside of work seems to matter more than skill or contributions wether that's code or hours spent. Be wary of applying here, they are running on a skeletion crew on just about every team, this was not the case a year ago. What's left is not the biggest contributors or most impactful team members. Once the CTO (Greg) left, it all started a shift, a little over a year ago. No sense of ownership on any of the teams, while every team is so fragmented. One could be implimenting something affecting the whole company and get laid the same day.
