Svantaggi
I currently work at Dufry’s US corporate office in Doral, FL. Unfortunately, morale is pretty low here and most non-management employees are unhappy. Here’s why: - Management is extremely unapproachable. There is no open-door policy here. Huge egos among management are the norm. Most of the top brass sits in Switzerland, but when they do visit the Miami offices, they make no effort to engage with the employees. Unless you’re in upper management yourself, “thou shalt not” address any executive directly. - Training is poor. You’re basically thrown in the deep end of the pool and expected to learn how to swim on your own. And what’s more, managers have no tolerance for the learning curve for new employees, even with the lack of formal training. And collaboration is frowned upon here. Ask too many questions while you’re learning the ropes, and you’ll get a reputation for being incompetent. But don’t dare make a mistake, otherwise you’re screwed. - Office space needs improvement. Our offices in Doral are in a converted warehouse that looks like it hasn’t been updated since the 1980s. The building is old, dusty and full of mold (good luck surviving here if you have allergies!). Word is that we’re moving to a brand new facility soon, though I’ve been hearing that for years. I’ll believe it when I see it. - Low morale and poor employee relations. Morale is very poor here and despite the HR talk about fostering a great corporate culture, the reality is the opposite. Snarky behavior and whispering behind co-workers’ backs is common here. As a result, most folks here are on edge and don’t know who they can trust.
