Overworked- constantly short staffed to the point of not even being able to take your two paid 15 minute breaks. You are expected to have four of you and be prompt in executing all request and yes, demands.
Understaffed- you can choose, either cater to your clients or follow Compliance. But you’ll always be the punching bag no matter what. Don’t expect compliance to understand or even care. You’re ordered to get it done.
Underpaid- For the new workload the company has placed on the shoulders of the lowest on the totem pole, incredible staff are overlooked, overworked and leaving the company. I will be leaving shortly if things are not changed.
Outdated facilities-The elevator is so old, clients AND staff have been stuck in the elevator, resulting in calls to the Fire Department. Which leads to my next
Company chose to rebrand, contract new companies for services and freeze pay raises- The company has contracted new services without ethical and detailed training, forcing lowest staff to bend over backwards to fill in the gaps the corporate staff are paid to figure out. Staff on site have been left without accessible bathrooms and private offices for new client admits on same floor due to contract workers being given use of original staff offices. This prolongs all services to clients due to lowest staff having to work around the new ‘normal’ in the facilities. In addition, the new contractors have began to use lowest staff as their ‘assistants’ in regards to running around facilities to locate clients, ALL DAY, On top of staffs own workload.
You’ll get a promotion but no pay raise-When senior management assigns you (without asking) to be assisting in training other employees of new contracted systems, don’t expect to be recognized. They just saw that you get a lot done in a timely manner, taking advantage of you.
CEO and all higher management are completely oblivious and in denial of the damage they are doing to the staff and company.
Broken promises- Staff has to work on top of each other on a daily basis but even more so now with contract companies in the building, even though it’s been promised for years a new office would be renovated for Nursing to be more efficient, productive and express gratitude to the work Nursing does every day. Instead, Nursing has become the garbage pit, pick up everyone’s mess team, with less staff, less room, more work and same amount of clients.
