Vantaggi
You can make fast friends at EP, some that would go to bat for you if you made a huge mistake that cost the agency money. There was one VP that really got it, in knowing that you need to develop your team but allowing them to fail, and support them when needed. While I was there there seemed to be excitement about new business pitches (sadly, they never came about). Intern program was good, but you needed leaders to actually care about them.
Svantaggi
No true leadership. While there were supervisors that would take a bullet, there were others that could throw you to the wolves quickly for small mistakes unless you are the club. EP signed a deal with the "devil" once it was worked into IPG, and more so with the goal to become a top agency. I do not believe Joe Erwin appreciates having to lay-off people; but this is a business that he has people to answer to. A great divide between the NY and SC office, culture-wise. Little to know training for junior staff. Mid-level to senior position on account side play guessing games while too afraid to say no to the clients.
