Vantaggi
- Internal systems are well built, very organized - You always get your answers when you ask a question about the internal platforms - Allow to work remotely for 60 days a year (however need to get approval from manager and company)
Svantaggi
- A lot of people work here are Russian speaking, English skills are not always on the same level as the colleagues working in the Netherlands. Since there are a lot of internal trainings offered within EPAM, a lot of trainers are Russian native speaker and it is always difficult to catch what are they saying during the trainings. It happens to daily work too. It lower efficiency and avoiding us to truly understand each other. I feel like such a minority working at EPAM. If you don't speak Russian, then you don't feel like you are included. - Soft skills are lacking in a lot of colleagues, especially the IT support and Delivery department. - If you finished your last project, you need to actively hunt for a new opportunities in the internal job board, and sometimes you need to be interviewed by the Project Manager, or even client before getting the role, I feel that it is unnecessary especially for non-technical role when you already have all the skills required. You must compete with 10+, or sometimes 30+ colleagues for one position and that is unncessary stress. - If you want to get promoted, you have to go through another internal system, and select which role you want to go to next, and learn all the skills required for the next role, then you will need to get interviewed by 4 or 5 senior colleagues to see if you worth getting the promotion. This is a very strange practice, why do I need to be judged with my teammates and manager already think that I am capable?
