Vantaggi

Far and away, biggest pro was LEAVING. Some of the international colleagues were excellent, but in each and every instance they were from acquisitions and not Edelman people.

Svantaggi

This is by far the most ethically bankrupt, hostile and incestuous place I have worked in my entire career. You're hired for one job, given no flight path, no goals set, dismissive and absentee managers and then the backstabbing begins. There is no one to trust in this place. Seriously, no one. It's Lord of the Flies meets incompetency and rampant unethical behavior. There is NO reason to consider a position here. No fancy title, no promises of bonus or advancement, no salary--seriously nothing is worth it. If you want to work at a big agency - and you're junior (or senior for that matter) - go to Weber or a WPP, Publicis or Interpublic agency. The firm's monicker of communications marketing is a complete joke. It will not catch up to the creative agencies, because the talent and the ideas - and the competence - are not there. This shop is 1990s "PR light" and not to be taken seriously. There's far greater talent and collegial environments out there. Do not settle. PS: I'd question any of the overly positive Glassdoor reviews as placed by the company itself. If you don't take my advice - fine- just please consider this carefully before you dive into something you're bound to regret.

Your feedback is concerning to me. We don’t ever want employees to leave Edelman with these kinds of observations and we strive to provide our leaders and employees the structure, tools and resources to not only avoid poor experiences, but help build a supportive and empowering culture. If you’d be willing, I’d like to speak with you personally about this and I encourage you to reach out to me at maria.okeeffe@edelman.com. In the meantime, I’d like to address one piece of feedback directly and publicly; none of Edelman’s reviews on Glassdoor are posted by us as an organization. We never have—and never will—engage in such an unethical practice. Especially considering the business we’re in, we value the ability for employees to voice their experiences in an honest and anonymous way and will not interfere in their right to do so. Good or bad, we read every review and consider them seriously as valuable opportunities to hear from our staff and make improvements accordingly. Maria O’Keeffe, Executive Director, US HR

Vantaggi

I worked with some of the brightest and best people in the business. Most of them are no longer with the company. Some good clients, and nice office space.

Svantaggi

Very limited opportunities for growth. During my time they reduced promotions to only once a year, and made many excuses for promoting as few people as possible (despite becoming the first "$1B" agency at that time). Morale was extremely low. People were forced to come into an office with nobody they actually worked with. Common to be passed from manager to manager. At one point I had 6+ managers within a 10-month span.
