Vantaggi
The people -- there was a high level of collegiality with everyone willing to support or provide resources to enable me to be successful in completing my deliverables.
The flexibility -- I had an hour commute and they were willing to let me arrive early (6:30am) and leave early (3:30) in order to miss city rush hour traffic.
Benefits -- they had a strong benefits package and were very fair in their negotiations with me.
Supervision -- I was supervised by one of the owners and consistently felt challenged, supported and able to take risks (and when one or two of these risks failed I was supported, encouraged, and taught).
Svantaggi
Sustainability -- seemed to have a difficult time getting contracts (this was not my purview, so can't speak fully on this topic)
Employment tied directly to contracts so when a contract is lost, the company is compelled to lay-off personnel tied to that contract, resulting in a loss of brain power and good workers.
