If I had to describe my journey at Eleventh Hour Enigma in one word, it’s transformative. What began as a creative side gig as a Game Master evolved into a managerial role, setting me on a completely different path. _______________________________________ Pros • Thrilling Peak Seasons + Cozy Slow Days During the busy seasons—especially around the holidays and weekends—the energy behind the scenes was electric. All of the staff was busy yet passionate, and we were all having a blast. My personal favorite were those winter evenings when the venue buzzed: beautiful Christmas decor, steampunk vibes, cheerful staff, and excited guests. Pure magic!! • Thoughtful Management The owners consistently went above and beyond bringing in meals for those marathon shifts and celebrating every success with us, big and small. Their thoughtfulness made even the longest, most hectic days feel meaningful and supportive. They give fantastic honest feedback and quality training to make sure you feel confident stepping into your role. • Meaningful Downtime Slower periods were just as valuable with the perfect opportunities to work on set pieces, freshen up the venue, and collaborate in creative ways. Those quiet times offered space to recharge and maintain the 5 star sets that they are known for. • Personal and Professional Growth I am deeply grateful to the owners for investing in my development. I could go on forever about this, but I fear I will run out of my word count here. Their mentorship gave me confidence, wisdom, and a deep appreciation for the theatrics, tech, and set craftsmanship that goes into immersive entertainment. They believed in me and cheered me on. I cannot thank them enough. • A Supportive, Hard-Working Team The staff here are some of the most intelligent, hard-working, and passionate individuals I have ever met. Being part of a team that truly collaborates to keep the magic alive was so inspiring. • Amazing Customers and Fan Base Eleventh Hour Enigma has a huge fan base with repeat customers and enthusiasts. Every day was an adventure and every group was unique. Whether welcoming a group of D and D (dungeons and dragons) friends or a corporate team building crew in suits and ties, facilitating curiosity and fun was incredibly rewarding. Every group left laughing and smiling while leaving the venue. People are there to have a fun time and hosting that experience is next level amazing. Advice to Prospective Applicants: If you're considering a position here, I highly encourage you to visit first. Play a game, take a tour, sit down with the owners and staff, soak it all in. This place isn’t just a job. It could be your next great adventure!

• Your Personal Handy(wo)man As talented as the owners are, my only gripe is that their trainings have made me the go-to household fixer in my personal life (LOL)! Apparently, once you become skilled in everything from tech to set builds, it’s hard to escape being “on call” even off the clock! :D

i have never left a bad review for a business before but let’s get into it starting with the pros. Good games: The games are very creative and immersive with good storylines and are easy to learn. Fun job: Eleventh Hour Enigma was all in all a wonderfully fun job to attend to and work on a day to day basis. The games are very creative and a blast to run. Customers are generally very excited with good energy to bring to you in the day to day. Once trained the games become second nature and are easy to run. Great coworkers: At My time of employment the Coworkers I was with are now like family and some of the finest folk you could possibly meet. Just the most incredibly kind souls whose spirits were crushed by the owners of the establishment.

No Medical benefits: There are no benefits provided at Eleventh Hour enigma or any Disability recognition due to their personal ability provided by the state to reject these vital pieces of most jobs. “Full time” but really a Part Time Job: It’s technically full time with the hours you can technically get but it’s really part time due to most of the hours being on call and uncompensated Low hourly wages: The pay for the job and all it’s requirements is incredibly low for what’s expected of employers On call time hell: The on call time is a majority of your days besides a weekday or two. Which is all uncompensated for being on call. If you struggle with uncertainty i’m a schedule and need something solid…Good luck. You will often make nothing or barely enough to scrape by Multiple days in a row due to the way the schedule and on call time is run. When bringing up compensation and any form of schedule change to make things easier and worthwhile they didn’t have the staffs best interest in mind. Homophobic views despite Handbook: Even provided with a Handbook with anti bullying and misgendering policy’s that were respected by each coworker there that was on staff, the owners however after being confronted on more then one occasion often misgendered and Deadnamed employees. This was highly disrespectful to the staff and harmful to employees for personal identity or for public safety reasonings. The Owners: At first they have a method similar to appreciating and love bombing attachment styles but your very first slip ups and that is it. Once they have a bad taste in their mouth for you it’s difficult to be around them. They’re catty and uncaring at times. They also bring their personal dramas to work and can often dump heavy trauma on employees that occurred in their life as well as make inappropriate sexual comments to one another in the forms of jokes and making out in certification games. It made everyone uncomfortable on more then one occasion. They couldn’t control where their personal life need to end to be hood bosses. That line is very blurred with this married couple. They also are quick to start gossip about the employees who work for them to other employees and often say little things that can feel like they’re trying to turn everyone against eachother like “well one of you said something like this..” which is then proven false by the staff that this instance didn’t happen or was with ex employees that wasn’t valid to the current work environment. They aren’t very understanding of personal circumstances and can be very cruel about topics that can make people uncomfortable and will still bring up topics or jokes similar in that field. They force gendered uniforms on all employees for the games for “full emersion” and it’s another subtle way to be homophobic. They also will not accept advice or change on how the company is being run and blamed the staff for its “Failings” in many ways. Though the staff was the thing that brought in a full list of 5 star reviews and went above and beyond to create good experiences. Each game master having gotten stellar 5 star reviews in the past. When asked to help bring in more customers the ideas to help were often rejected. The owners just refused to change and blamed that fact on the staff. The ideas to better the work place also rejected and very “my way or the highway”. A control problem became evident with several of Coworkers getting stress related illnesses and fearing days the owners came in. There was also some talk about the owners being very touchy with employees and making odd comments to several of them which i can confirm. They bullied people on solo meetings and were not able to take criticism without getting defensive and mean spirited. They don’t listen to staff and Don’t seem to want to change that either. Leading to a max exit of past employees including myself.
