1. Extremely micro managed, senior management has no say in decisions , the word and will of the directors is the final word. 2. Senior management doesnot aim at building a team or leadership qualities in subordinates, they themselves play more execution roles rather than strategic roles and accordingly there is no empowerment of employees. The senior management must learn mannerisms to conduct themselves and communicate with their subordinates. E.g the performance of an employee or his shortcomings are discussed openly amongst a house full of people. 3. Work culture is very primitive and not youth oriented, no processes in place and mostly manually driven, high on nepotism, hierarchy prevalent at every step. E.g. Lunch area for GMs and above is different than the cafeteria. No encouraging atmosphere or attitude towards employees. 4. HR policies are not at all employee friendly. No work from home, deduction of money for late beyond 3days, leaves not granted easily, no humane approach towards incidents like child birth or death or mishap in the employee’s family. 5.An absolute “yes sir” “okay sir” atmosphere. People are expected only to think in lines of their boss and any deviation is strictly not entertained. “ If each of us hires people who are smaller than we are, we shall become a company of dwarves, but if each of us hires people who are bigger than we are, we shall become a company of giants." --David Oglivy - So Hire people who are better than the existing talent pool not who can only say a yes, who knows it may open larger perspective. 6. Trust your employees. The managements job is not to be a police man , it is to drive the company. Focus on that rather than being busy in monitoring who is doing what or how many times is he/she going to the toilet or checking phone in a day. You have hired adults not toddlers.
