I felt it was difficult to make a career (meaning at least more than two years) at ERAU as a flight instructor. The pay was relatively fair, but the structure for earning said paycheck was highly variable and quite a let-down. Work was subject to fluctuations with little that could be done to keep an normal paycheck. Students are college students and a flight rating is just another college class. Not the most motivated or dedicated students I've taught. I earned anywhere from 1200 to 230 dollars in a pay period. I have a family of four.
