Vantaggi
Genuinely great organisation to work for. I've been at Enable Works for four years now and I've been witness to how much it's grown over that time but kept it's core values at the heart of the work. The opportunities to learn and progress are really good, as it's a fast growing organisation and it's always trying out new innovative practices ahead of many others. I have a disability myself, and so I've seen how much effort the organisation will go to, to make adjustments and make sure you can contribute like everyone else. The pay is always competitive, and they value keeping skilled staff so there's a lot of thought put into actioning feedback and maintaining a healthy working culture. Individual talent and interests are well sought after to lead on new innovative practices, so there's always opportunity to step up and take the lead on something here. Even though it's a national organisation, the culture from the top down is very community focused, and values driven. There's a really good attitude to partnerships, and in a management role, it's really easy to build up rapport with other organisations and combine your efforts because of that. If you want a job where you can go home and know you've made a positive impact, then this is the place.
Svantaggi
It's third sector, which has been rough for employers over the past few years to say the least. It can feel like a constant uphill struggle at times because of the nature of politics and funding but they're definitely one of the best organisations at being proactive to change and getting ahead of the curve.
