- No investments to employees (I.e. raises, bonuses, etc). - No sense of urgency. - No respect for chain of command. - High turnover rate. - No training programs, everything is DIY. - Upper management massages people’s egos with optimism, when the actual reality is grim. - Lack of office supplies (constant scavenge of pens, paper clips, sticky notes, etc). - Hum Drum atmosphere and lightning rod employees cause toxic environments and prevents a functional and efficient environment. - R&D is not really research and development of new products. It is “band-aiding” existing products to improve loss of margin. - Lots of sustaining and “fire-fighting” of daily issues. - No tribal/senior knowledge. - Employees often stressed or overwhelmed with doing two person jobs. - Nobody cares if you’re on your phone. - No budget for new supplies or basic management software for engineering. - Machine and inspection equipment is old and obsolete. - Stay for a job, leave for a career. - Tons of paperwork.
