Svantaggi
I started off well bringing results, but a few months later, I was unexpectedly transferred to another department that was already facing significant challenges. In this new department, I encountered ongoing discrimination and exclusion, particularly from a group of Dutch colleagues who actively isolated and created a hostile environment. When I initially raised this issue, I was told there might be language barriers, despite having clarified English proficiency during my interviews at Eneco. If I had known about these challenges beforehand, I would have reconsidered accepting the job offer. During one of my vacations, a colleague took full credit for work I had completed without making any changes, and management ignored my complaint when I brought it to their attention. When I raised concerns about discrimination, emphasizing its seriousness and potential illegality, my manager dismissed them, attributing such behavior to the company's past government affiliation and suggesting it was unfortunately common. For over 7 months, the manager was unable to hold one-on-one or team meetings due to ongoing complaints about his harassing and inappropriate behavior towards his team. Upon resigning, HR showed little concern for employee well-being, failing to conduct an exit interview or follow up. Eneco claims to prioritize digital transformation, yet many long-time employees resist adopting modern, standard digital practices, stifling innovation. This resistance has contributed to a hostile and unsafe work environment, as these individuals react negatively to stepping out of their comfort zones. This reluctance fosters a disheartening atmosphere of obstructionism and discrimination within the company. Given recent layoffs and high turnover, I would advise caution to anyone considering applying to Eneco.
