Vantaggi
There are a few good people hanging on in this hell hole. Doubt they'll be around much longer.
Svantaggi
- no pay rises, told there is a hiring freeze, managers are taking pay cuts etc but there seems to be an email announcing a new Head of something or other every 2nd day - management are afraid of making decisions, so everything takes x10 times longer than it needs to - management also seem to micromanage to a level of not even having the autonomy you need to just get on with the job - no support from management in my role, tried to communicate very clearly that I needed support and how I needed it and this just fell on deaf ears. Tried a different manager. Just words. Given false promises to placate me. Actively pushed out as now I am too hard to deal with for pointing out things are not working. I actually feel like I have been forced into resigning with prolonged poor treatment. - no training and development opportunities - retention is appalling. Turnover rate is very high due to resource constraints, and additional work just being handballed around on top of your existing work. - everybody who works here is tired. Overworked. Does not get to disconnect. - there is no respect for anybody's personal time. Not in the evening, not on the weekend and nobody seems to think that's strange. - outdated systems. Some people still do paper time sheets. Software from the 90s. No asset management. Not even a functional Intranet. - poor communication is business wide. Information comes in drips and drabs, and depends on which manager you know and speak to. Nothing is consistent. - business is not making money, CEO says "do more with less!" This is not a business that looks after people in the long term. - procedures are old, knowledge loss from so many people leaving impacts day to day business operations. Nobody truly knows what they're doing, and then suddenly someone will ask why you aren't doing something written in an obscure procedure from 2016 hidden on an outdated server -no commitment to improvement, some managers try to change policy overnight and that message is not actually passed down so you can never ever get ahead. There is no transition or dedication to improvement, just throwing stuff at the wall and hoping it sticks. - perth office is run down, disgusting, out of the way and does not have adequate parking. Office assets are aged, not well looked after. - don't want to provide you what you need to do your job, and instead want you to buy with your own money and make an expense claim that never gets paid. I could go on forever. The salary is average. The people don't want to be here because it is miserable. The morale is low.
