Poor base salary, poor commission plan. Only when you work somewhere else you realise how bad the incentives are. Strange company culture, lots of gossip, employees dating each other and favouritism. No control on the product you sell or the company you work as an SDR for. They literally punish you for over-performing and take you off the product/company you are doing well for. You really feel like EngageTech is trying to strike the best balance between getting results for their clients whilst also ensuring they pay their SDRs as little as possible, which is fair enough as they’re a business but they don’t care for their employees. High churn culture, you’re very disposable as an SDR. They hide a lack of career progression pathways behind micro promotions that mean very little (SDR > Senior SDR > SDR Leader etc). Don’t join here if you wish to become an AE.
