Vantaggi
As an international expat, if you negotiate well, you can achieve an excellent salary and relocation package.
Svantaggi
There is no career path, or respect, for non-Italians. Eni is a complex, massive organisation. It is filled with some excellent, really intelligent individuals. Unfortunately, the majority are useless. Management is conducted through intimidation and threats. There is no transparency, people are treated differently depending on their nationality, how well connected they are to management, and immorality is de-rigueur. Your productivity is irrelevant, so you may get a bonus, or may be forgotten - depending on how the wind blows (there is no tangible subjectivity or consequence to performance). Conversations are held in a downward one-way fashion: take it or leave it. The best time to join Eni as an expat (international employee via EIRL) is when they are busy; HR is disorganised and overworked, pandering to the whims of multiple entities, organisations and competing factions. If you are lucky you can get a few years on great money with no real responsibility, autonomy, authority or attention. Enter with no expectations apart from dutifully receiving your salary.
