Everyone has a TL - their manager. But the problem is some of these managers have never managed anything in their life. And now because of a staffing crunch, even younger employees are being asked to be a TL. Ever have a team captain in high school? It’s kind of like that. Except now instead of deciding who’s on the bench, they’re ranking you and it affects your salary. On the other hand, some of the more “experienced” TLs have been at Epic since they graduated college. Like this was their first job. So they have no other management experience than what they’ve got at Epic. These tend me be midwesterners who never want to leave and have been at Epic over 10 years. And in that time they haven’t developed better management skills.
