I loved working at Epic Web Studios when I lived in Erie. The atmosphere was very growth-oriented for both the clients of epic and also the employees themselves. The culture of the agency is very focused on strong outcomes for everyone, team-first, and also maintaining a good work-life balance (they are very flexible on time off, etc). Each department has their own set of responsibilities but it's a tight-knit team so the departments work really well together. The leadership was also not into micromanaging every detail - instead they provide a lot of guidance up front and then it's up to the team to interpret this and get good results for our clients - something that happens month after month.

There's a frenetic pace here and a lot of clients so if you're not an organized person who can self-start it's probably going to be hard for you to find success

You will learn that all opportunities are better than anything here. Congrats!

The last thing I would ever describe this company with is “epic.” For those who wish the other negative reviews are exaggerated, I can assure you they are not. As a previous intern, there were many times I felt uncomfortable and watched - only when leadership was around. After hearing the stories of what happened with interns before me (one specifically), I knew to stay far away from the CEO. While the building felt like it could collapse at any moment, I wondered if the unpaid internship was even worth it. The cherry on top of it all was when we were visited by the CEO. I was asked to call him after my next internship to talk about my experience compared to his “program.” Creepy. He then proceeded to walk into the office next to my desk and ask who I was - months after I had started. He looked up my Facebook, zoomed into my chest, and made a comment to the employee about my appearance. Mortifying. The only positive thing that came out of it were the connections and friends I made with the employees. But because they are highly intelligent and have promising futures, they are long gone and off to bigger and better things. Whether you are looking for an internship or employment here, just know that you CAN and WILL do better. This is a cold environment that will leave you feeling nothing but stress and regret.
