Dock workers are clearly treated as the lowest priority despite management constantly saying “employees matter.” There is no real avenue to speak up—suggestions are routinely shut down, talked over, or dismissed with excuses about why nothing can change. Feedback feels pointless. Leadership at this terminal is a major issue. Both terminal managers are siblings, which creates an unprofessional dynamic and raises serious concerns about favoritism and accountability. Communication is poor, often disrespectful, and the language used by management is frequently inappropriate and unprofessional. Safety concerns are not taken seriously. Equipment and dock conditions are questionable, yet concerns are brushed off rather than addressed. Morale on the dock is low, and it feels like workers are expected to just accept unsafe or frustrating conditions without question. Turnover among dock workers is extremely high. Most people do not like working here, plain and simple, and they don’t stay long. New hires come and go quickly because the same issues—lack of respect, poor communication, and ignored concerns—never change.
