- DEIB initiatives and a few on my team are LGBTQ+ which gives a sense of community and inclusion - unlimited PTO and manager is lenient on deadlines whenever I don't feel like working - ability to travel to conferences - There's no pressure/deadline for juniors as seniors get most of the responsibilities of the team - Seniors data engineers have the opportunity to be exposed to many roles and work as devops, dba, data architect, data governance expert, secops on top of regular responsibilities

Svantaggi

- low salary for San Diego county but could be high for LCOL areas - sometimes too much free time for juniors as I spent most of the summer doing nothing and taking random PTO - lots of projects have a bus factor of 1 - work exposes me to areas i don't want to work in such as devops

Specific to EverHealth Career opportunities: First job where i noticed racism and bias stalling personal career development. Engineering org specifically has very little career growth opportunities. Once you are a senior developer, you will be given more work with zero recognition. Culture: Blame culture is at the forefront and people are extremely scared to make mistakes. Everyday a new process is implemented and everyone is supposed to just know how it works. Compensation: Pay is no where close to industry standards. A job switch gives a 30% pay jump without even trying to negotiate. Diversity: High groupism among leaders. Hiring is done based on past relationships as opposed to checking on their merit. Recognition is also given based on color of skin. Management: Every day you see a new level of incompetency when it comes to senior leaders. Everyone is looking after themselves and no one is focused on operating as a team except for a handful of managers.
