Benefits are decent. Location is nice. Good food nearby. Place is usually clean. Nice views.

Lack of career growth. As a Talent Advisor we purposely are told to bring people in way under market. Management is not trained well. No on-boarding at all. Manipulation between teams. Bad Sr Leadership. Over worked. Expected to work 55+ hour weeks. After 90 days I realized that this was not the right place for me and am now leaving. It is a very bad company all around. Look at Hotwire for example...there career sight is from 2007 pictures. Oh, and no RSU's are usually given at all for sign up. Last...6 people have left Talent Acquisitions in the past 2 months...this says a lot about a company.

As the leader of the Talent Acquisition organization, I view it as a personal responsibility to ensure our organization is a great place to work and that we are bringing in strong talent for the entirety of Expedia, Inc. Specific to my team, some of the turnover mentioned in the post was planned and in-line with individual career growth and goals. Nonetheless, I take the feedback seriously and will work closely with my leadership team to ensure Talent Acquisition is great place to work. The one comment I do want to address specifically is regarding our approach to compensation for our recruits. Though packages will vary by individuals and roles, we aim to compensate competitively within our company guidelines and ranges. While always under review, we are confident our compensation and benefits packages are aligned with the broader market. Thanks again for the comment. Constant state of transformation is ripe environment for new hires and functional experts from big name tech companies

Pre-covid the culture was really special. Collaborative, engaging, people-centric, with a unifying mission to enable travel for the world. Since covid there has been a revolving door of executive leadership, and with each round, they throw out the current strategy to try something "new" without building from the current or past successes. Constant change, but no clear vision or strategy of what they are trying to change to. Lack of strategy and low risk tolerance leads to too many priorities with not enough investment to move the needle in anything. Quarterly layoffs, but executed quietly team by team so as not to make news. No psychological safety. Talent strategy since covid is to hire externally over internal promotions to gain "functional expertise" therefore difficult to grow your career. Siloed divisions not working towards common goal. Lacks operating model maturity needed for a company of this size likely do to revolving door of execs and priorities. A cash cow company with an identity crisis trying to be an AI innovator. Build vs buy mentality slows them down. Too many exec pet projects that aren't vetted with proper business cases.
