Awful management. Infant-school playground management style. Employees are just fodder, if you don't make them money you will be "dismissed" - because you can't be made redundant if there is no job in the first place. A well-practiced process from my experience, cheerfully explaining that according to UK employment law "They don't need a reason". It is obviously the company strategy to push the limits of employment law. I think they've closed the place down now.
