Vantaggi
The people who comprise the workforce of FPX make up one of the best teams on which I have worked. The talent level is off the charts. Colleagues are always willing to help each other and are focused on getting things done. Even though the employee base is dispersed across Dallas, two locations in Minnesota and remotely, the team is cohesive.
Svantaggi
FPX lacks experienced executive management and ownership. This has created a leadership and communication vacuum across the company, save for the occasional town hall meeting when lip service masquerades as direction and progress. The result is a culture of uncertainty and mistrust. Rather than empowering its talented workforce to act and succeed, FPX's most senior executive wears the hats of VP of Sales, VP of Technology, VP of Marketing, VP of Operations, VP of Finance, and on and on. Because of this, only the latest crisis receives attention while everything else stalls. In the meantime, competitors are running circles around FPX in the market. The results of this dysfunction are clear. Key milestones such as sales quotas are missed. Important meetings and events are inexplicably cancelled or postponed at the last second. Invoices go ignored. Vendors go unpaid. Employee reviews are nonexistent.
