Vantaggi
- Rarely work beyond the 9-5, often less - Easy to get time off. - Excellent documentation and initiative to standardize services is effective. - Company stock is public and generous, with a ton of room to grow as states legalize sportsbooks. - Sensible tech stack. - Tons of time to onboard and really learn the industry. - Friendly and smart co-workers - I work remote but the office in Flatiron is awesome, I go a couple times a week - Direct management is understanding and approachable. They don’t micromanage whatsoever. - Active encouragement of continued learning with free udemy access (10% days) - benefits work for me, but I imagine they would be better elsewhere. - Overall, very laid back.
Svantaggi
- Base pay is a little lower than it should be, but stock/bonus is good and stock values seem to have a high floor - Unclear targets for advancing to next levels. As a software engineer I do more or less the same job as senior software engineers and I’m unsure of what is needed to get that title (and pay.) - Sportsbook is largely based in Europe/UK, making it difficult to get questions answered past lunch. - Sometimes there is a little too little work to do - HR messed up benefit elections as I joined when benefit elections started, thus I ended up with no health insurance.
