Vantaggi

- Good pay ($15/hr) - Promote from within - It's a good workout/sweat - The tasks are easy to learn - Flexible dress code (No uniform) - No drug test or interview is necessary - Got the job and started within a week of applying - Incentives to work more days (bonuses and raffles for prizes)

Svantaggi

- Orientation was very misleading to the realities of the work. The 1 and a half-day orientation was more focused on the benefits and the overall company as a whole than the site itself I'd be working at. They preached safety and rules but the employees and managers who worked there did not model it. - Working hours are terrible for most people. It's a night shift/early morning job typically. I had to get up at 1am in order to get ready, drive there, go through security, and get clocked in by 2am. You work until the job is finished and then you go home. (This was 8-8:30 ish where I was) -You will have bruises all over your body, and will never not be sore. I worked on the sorting towers and had bruises on my thighs, knees, and shins from hitting the conveyor belts for hours on end. The packages on the belt you need to sort can be extremely heavy, and your muscles quickly become overworked and sore from the repetitive pushing and pulling. -If you work on the sorting towers, it is rare you will get a break to go to the bathroom. The facility I worked at only had two bathrooms in the building, and one of which was only one stall. Often I had to hold it for a long period of time because I couldn't leave the tower without somebody to take over for me, and this would cause me to not want to hydrate enough. This then became an issue of feeling faint and nauseous from the heavy workload. -The fans in the building half of the time worked, and the work areas were dirty and trashed. -I asked multiple times to be trained in other areas to get a break from the sorting towers, and I was ignored and brushed off. -If you're the type of person who needs formal training and direction, this is not for you. You will only learn what the people around you are willing to tell you and share. You get thrown to the wolves and you need to be able to pick up on things quickly. -You have to work fast and be able to process information quickly. If you work on the sorting towers, you have to scan the packages with your eyes, flip and rotate them in a matter of seconds to see where they go, and throw them to the corresponding chute or pass it to your partner EXTREMELY FAST. If you let too many packages go by that don't belong, you will get yelled at and reprimanded. Each facility processes about 50,000 packages a day, and you'll be sorting thousands of packages a night at breakneck speeds. -If you like having your phone on you during your work shifts, too bad cause they are not allowed past security. You have to leave them at home, in a locker at the front gates, or in your car.

Vantaggi

Easy to apply, fast to get hired (no interview process) and the pay

Svantaggi

Very rude management, lack of care for safety, no drinkable water (all filters are in the red and have been since I started) They have cameras everywhere and are constantly watching you but say you can’t bring your own phone in because “people steal them”? There is junk everywhere. Lots of trash everywhere (employees drinks and food). They want you to work and eat on the line instead of giving you breaks to do so. They get upset when you use the bathroom or fill your water bottle even if you’ve been working for 3 hours straight but if you clock in at an area 2 min walking distance from your work area you’re “stealing time” I’ve noticed people of color get treated differently. The HR department has some of the most prejudice employees so there’s no real equality if you have conflict with someone. I’ve never been, but it feels like a prison to go in and out of the building and lastly you don’t work a consistent schedule. You leave when they say you can.
