HR has an obsession with making people go to the office. After covid, they made us go to the office one week per month. Then that increased to two. Recently they posted an attendance policy to tell people to make sure they stay the full day for in office weeks - which they have not actually specified what that means. Is 8 am on time? 9 am? is 4 pm the end of the day? 5 pm? Translation: Track onsite attendance arbitrarily in order to penalize people arbitrarily despite actual work performance.

In my current role, I am working overtime more often than I'd like with recognition that seems to only go so far until it sizzles out. That may be tied to the size of the company itself, where promotions work in a "trickle down" manner.
