Vantaggi

Fun topics for writing opportunities, interesting projects to work on... but that's unfortunately about it. Nothing worth what you'll, in turn, have to ultimately deal with.

Svantaggi

This company (if that's what you even want to call it) is the epitome of unprofessionalism and pure shadiness. Staff is treated terribly and lied to when it comes to deserved pay. It's basically a charity to keep up the glossy facade of this so called publication. Do yourself a favor and work with a legitimate magazine that prides itself on a ethical foundation, not only to readers, but to their employees as well.

Vantaggi

I worked here as an intern (remotely), and had a great time doing it. I got to write for sections I was actually interested in. The woman who I worked with was so nice, encouraging, and allowed me a lot of freedom with my writing. While I wrote mainly for their online content, I was offered a few articles in their physical magazine, which was awesome.

Svantaggi

They don't pay their interns (like most places) but they did allow me to receive college credit for my time there.

Vantaggi

There are great perks to working at FINE Magazine as an intern. First of all, they let you choose which field you want to be involved in. This means the magazine and you are mutually benefitted; you are learning what is valuable to you while the magazine is using the skills they taught you. You can choose to learn about events, social media marketing, editorial, graphic design, etc. It is a great experience and resume builder. Second, you get insight, an inside look into how a magazine comes to be. You get to play a part in the digital media and the print publication, which is really cool thing!

Svantaggi

Although FINE Magazine's journalism interns are unpaid, they get writing credit, valuable training, and exposure to a reputable San Diego Magazine and how it impacts the community. The magazine has a great location as the office is in the Del Mar Plaza.
