The codebase is modern, and you work with people who gladly share what they know. Experienced engineers answer questions without making you feel stupid for asking. The mix of new development and maintenance work adds variety to the day. The pay is good for the area, and the benefits are quite decent (health insurance and 401k included).

Compensation was fine, considering the salary, perks, and benefits. It was one of the reasons most of us couldn't complain and risk our jobs. We all try to please everyone involved or at least I try to please everyone involved in what I do.

First thing you'll notice is the horrible work ethics and the unprofessionalism in the workplace. I was working on this project, which management assigned by the way, but what the manager does is, he makes changes on what you're working on, without you knowing! You'll be surprised when you get back to it and then, you don't even know where to start anymore!! It is maddening but you can't complain or say anything because he will threaten to fire you and insult for your work! What he doesn't understand, is what you did was what the client exactly wanted!! Anyway, everything here is so confusing. The systems, the processes, it's all so disorganized because management aways meddles with everyone's work!
