I had a c-suite level executive tell me that "conversations surrounding additional compensation will not be entertained until you make yourself invaluable to the organization", and then in the same breath he said "everyone is replaceable". Make it make sense. My direct manager was comfortable telling me that the company would be paying me 7k less per year if they could. And that's after I took on the entire responsibility of my department (we had 3 people in the team I was a part of at the start of the year - it went down to just me at the end). When I showed that manager with a quick Google search that I was being paid 15 percent less than the average market rate for my role, they gave me the run around by saying that "my role didn't actually reflect the work I did for the organization; they just gave me the title because they couldn't think of any other title to give me". Titles are universal. The cannabis industry doesn't need to reinvent the wheel when it comes to business practices. Having me plead with you and grovel for the AVERAGE MARKET RATE for the work you need me to do is vile. Before that, I had a boss that was racist and sexist towards myself and my other coworker on my team. We gave HR proof (screenshots and statements), and they did nothing about it. That manager stayed at the company for 8 months after the HR inquiry was made, and then he left of his own volition. They did NOTHING to help their employees. That's just the tip of the iceberg. DO. NOT. WORK. HERE.
