The complete lack of corporate strategy leads to constant shifts in focus and frequent mass lay-offs when they make bad calls. Corporate security policies make it impossible to make even tiny adjustments to client sites without at least a 3-week lag. Software companies should be agile, and they're about as agile as a tortoise. Most of the tech staff have seen so many lay-offs that they will not share knowledge with anyone in order to make themselves essential when the next cuts happen. Hint, guys: it doesn't work.
