They hire new people (at reduced salaries) then lay off the experienced employees. No severance, no notice--you're not even given the chance to say goodbye to your teams, they just cut you off effective immediately. They will also openly lie about layoffs, promising just days before they happen that there won't be any. They differentiate themselves to customers by purporting to deliver "thought leadership" content, but it's the same mediocre SEO writing that everyone else does, at a premium price. A lot of work just gets handed off to freelancers. While the staff writers are very good writers, they are expected to produce "thought leadership" content for several different clients in unrelated fields. One content writer at a marketing agency is not going to be a thought leader in PCB manufacturing, SaaS, and refinery operations all at the same time. They're going to research it on Google like anyone else. It is often clear the writers do not understand even the fundamentals of what they're writing about, yet it gets sold to the customer as "thought leadership." The way they market their service is extremely dishonest.
