I worked with some very knowledgeable and down-to-earth people. I was able to work on projects without being micro-managed, and take time to deal with family issues or go to the doctor when necessary.

Stress is high. Saw many people who were over-extended, having to do the work of two or three people, too busy and frazzled to meet deadlines, learn new skills, or train new hires. I had discussions with new employees who didn't know what they were supposed to do because no one had time, or took the time, to train them. Upper management rarely visits with the little people, so they don't know what people are struggling with, and don't know their real achievements. Pay is extremely low unless you make it to VP level or work for the right business unit.
