Vantaggi
The lower level managers are great. I could get the help I needed from my direct manager. I learned quite a bit from him. The software consultants are very good at what they do and usually have time to answer questions.
Svantaggi
The upper management and CEO are very micromanage-y. Lower level managers are generally okay with working remote when needed, but upper management strongly discourages working remote. The CEO would meet yearly with each employee to discuss ways to improve the company, but any critique or suggestion was met with an excuse. If you're looking to be in tech here, the tech side of the office is open concept office, so if you're an introvert, beware. During the beginning of Covid the upper management tried every month to get people to come in against the MN work from home order in 2020 despite having the ability to work remote prior to Covid which shows these positions were not required to be in office to do their jobs effectively. When I was there there was no HR to answer your questions because of the high turnover of HR employees. A sad coincidence was they happened to furloughed all of the women (about 3 out of 20ish employees) in their tech side, and then as soon as the PPP loan was forgiven they were all subsequently laid off. Very much a "good old boys" club. If you join the team at any point that is not June when they typically hire their interns and college grads no one will talk to you or introduce themselves.
