Might be different in other Fitch departments, but in the ABS group talent is not rewarded, and promotions are given to those having the closest relationship with their senior manager. Senior managers have little to no experience in certain asset classes and the opinions of experienced analyts are often ignored. The mentality at Fitch is if you don't like it, then leave. Senior management takes care of their own.
